The Zamfara state Police Command has succeeded in the recovery of two live rockets propelled grenades, seven operational AK47 rifles, nine magazines and twenty six rounds of live ammunition.
The Command, said it has also arrested thirteen armed bandits and informants as well.
Parading the suspects alongside their illegally possessed firearms at the state Police Command Gusau yesterday, the Commissioner of Police, CP Usman A. Belel said, the PMF stationed at Tsafe local government had foiled an attack attempted by the armed bandits targeted on innocent Hayin Dan Alhaji village.
According to the Commissioner, the bandits, if not engaged by the Command’s tactical unit of the PMF, it would have resulted into the loss of innocent lives of the targeted community, adding that, “The Command, through its intelligence gathering sources, had succeeded in the recovery of the said firearms, nine empty magazines from different parts of the state”.
