Zamfara warns PDP against political thuggery

Zamfara State Government has in strong term warned the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to count out political thuggery as means of it’s strategy to win elections in the state.

In a press briefing at Government House Gusau by the deputy Governor, Senator Mohammed Nasiha, has accused both the PDP and it’s gubernatorial candidate of using political thugs to launched attacks on billboards and properties belonging to innocent citizens of the state.

Nasiha further stated that, it has come to the notice of the state government that, the PDP gubernatorial candidate, Dauda Lawan Dare had on the 27th/11/2022 mobilised political thugs and vandalized billboards and people’s property  in Gusau the state capital.

“This is unwanted movements by the PDP and it’s gubernatorial candidate who had even been barred by the court of appeal Sokoto division from participating into political activities related to gubernatorial candidature.

“We will not allow unpatriotic politicians to continue playing filthy games capable of pulling back efforts by the State Government and Security Agencies in the fights against lingering security challenges.

“The relative peace enjoyed in our state is still on fragile plate, therefore can not fold arms to continue watching people hiding under politics with a view to turn our state a lawless society”, Nasiha has warned.

He directed security agencies to secure arrest of all the perpetrators not minding how high their positions are in the state for the law to decide their punishments as that will serve as deterrent to others.
