Group under the auspiecies of the All Progressives Congress Youth in Plateau state have urged the National Leadership of the party to zone its 2023 Presidential flag to the North Central Region.
This is coming shortly after the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) announced the date for 2023 Presidential elections.
Dr Shendam Solomon, former APC youth leader and spokesperson of the group made the plea Friday, in Jos while fielding questions from journalists after an emergency meeting of Plateau state APC Youth Ambassadors.
He lamented that the North Central geopolitical zone has been shut out of the Presidential seat since the nation got independence in 1960, pointing the need for the party to zone its 2023 Presidential flag to the region in the interest of stregthening participatory politics that offers inclusiveness, equality, fairness and justice for all.
“We rise this day to make our grievances known to the whole world on the injustice and callous neglect the people of North Central have suffered since independence in 1960, we are here to raise our voice against all other geopolitical zones in Nigeria, against their wickedness against North Central, even though our zone has been a strong pillar of support and refuge for the unity of Nigeria, we have been turned to second class people in our own country and have been deprived the highest seat in the land, he lamented”.
Already, politicians across party lines have commenced jockeying for coveted post of public responsibilities especially, the office of President.
