From Osaigbovo Iguobaro, Benin
Benin based Human Rights activist, Patrick Eholor has began his campaign to succeed Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo state.
The move is not unconnected with the perceived pressure by artisans, businessmen and women in the state, who have asked him to contest the next governorship election in Edo state in 2016.
Eholor, the president of One Love Foundation International was however yet to formally declare his intension to vie for the plump job.
He told journalists yesterday in Benin City, the state capital that his intention was tied to his intention to re-write the history of the state for the sake of “public good’’.
The philanthropist who is also the deputy state chairman of the Labour Party (LP), noted that the state is in dare need of a servant leader who will perform better than the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership in the state.
According to him, “when market women, farmers, students and youths begin to incessantly request that you run for a particular position in the state, it means there is something they have seen that you have not. These people have approached me…’’.
