The Action Democratic Party (ADP) has called on the Federal Government to adopt a people-centred economic framework aimed at promoting inclusive growth and easing the burden of economic hardship on Nigerians.

The party also urged citizens to join its platform, presenting itself as a credible alternative capable of addressing the country’s pressing challenges ahead of future elections.

Speaking during the party’s National Executive Council (NEC) meeting and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) verification exercise held at the ADP national headquarters in Abuja, the National Chairman, Yabagi Yusuf Sani, said Nigeria is currently grappling with multiple challenges, including economic hardship, insecurity, unemployment, and declining public trust in governance.

He noted that the ADP is committed to providing practical solutions, including the development of a people-centred economic framework to drive inclusive growth, strengthening national security through institutional reforms, and promoting transparent governance anchored on accountability and the rule of law.

According to him, the meeting marked a significant moment in both the party’s journey and Nigeria’s democratic development, stressing that the ADP has taken deliberate steps in recent months to reposition itself as a disciplined and forward-looking political platform.

Sani said the party has strengthened its internal structures, expanded membership across states and wards, and commenced the digitisation of its processes to enhance transparency, accessibility, and inclusiveness.

He further stated that the party is preparing strategically for the 2027 general elections in line with the provisions of the Electoral Act 2026 and guidelines of the Independent National Electoral Commission.

“Our approach is clear and lawful. We will conduct consensus-based primaries, ensure transparent and inclusive processes, and present candidates who are credible, competent, and electable,” he said.

The ADP chairman emphasised that unity and discipline remain critical to the party’s success, warning against internal divisions and stressing that party interests must take precedence over individual ambitions.

He added that the party aims to provide Nigerians with a viable alternative to what he described as the recycling of political actors responsible for the country’s underdevelopment.

Sani also disclosed that the NEC meeting would deliberate on key issues, including the adoption of updated electoral guidelines for 2027, proposed amendments to the party constitution, approval of the date and modalities for the national convention, and measures to strengthen compliance with INEC regulations.

Addressing Nigerians, he urged citizens to embrace the ADP as a platform built on integrity, competence, and national unity.

“History will judge us not by our intentions, but by our actions. Let us rise to the occasion and provide the leadership our nation urgently requires,” he said.
