About 10 people were confirmed dead while several other passengers were hospitalized in an auto crash in Yanfari village area of Taura local government area of Jigawa state.
The Jigawa state Police Command’s Police Public Relations Officer (DSP), Shiisu Adam confirmed the incident to People’s Daily reporter in a statement.
He said the Jigawa State Police Command regretted to announce that on November 12, 2024, at about 2130hrs, a fatal motor accident occurred in Yanfari village, Taura LGA, along the Kano/Hadejia Road.
According to him, “the accident occurred when a Toyota Hummer bus with registration number; HDJ 631 YDD, driven by one Sani Mainasara ‘m’ age 35yrs of Hadejia LGA, was coming from Kano to Hadejia, conveying eleven (11) passengers. On reaching the scene, the bus hit a Trailer which was parked by the road and summersaulted.”
He maintained that, those that lost their lives include the driver and nine (9) other passengers.
“On receiving information about the tragic incident, the patrol team attached to Taura Division raced to the scene and recovered corpses.
He added that the injured were taken to the Hadejia General Hospital for medical examinations.
