Two Policemen attached to the convoy of a Canadian and American businessmen were killed when kidnappers ambushed their vehicles close to Kagrako, along Kaduna-Abuja road on Tuesday night.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the Command ASP Aliyu Mukhtar confirmed this while speaking to Peoples Daily in Kaduna yesterday.
According to him, the late Police officers engaged the kidnappers in a gun duel but were outnumbered by the attackers.
He further disclosed that a team from the Anti Kidnapping Squad has been despatched to the area to arrest the fleeing kidnappers.
“Another special team from the Command has also been sent to the area to support the rescue operation,’ he said.
The two businessmen were said to be on their way to Abuja when the kidnappers ambushed them.
