Irate youths kill one person, 25 cows in Benue

No fewer than one people were said to have been attacked and killed yesterday by suspected youths in nyele village of Okoku Local Government Area of Benue state.
About 25 cows were said to have been killed while 98 were said to have been rustled.
When contacted, the Benue the state Police Public Relations Officer, Donald. N Awunah, confirmed the attack but could not ascertain the number of the casualties as at the time of filing this story.
He said, “ actually there was an attack on the said village but we have not ascertained the no of the casualties. I would call you after ascertaining everything.”
According to Central Zone Chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria ( MCABAN), Dalladi Ciroma, who spoke to journalists in Jos narrated that the attack took place at about 5:30 am of yesterday before money prayers when suddenly Idoma youth attacked the residents of Ardo Nanna and killed 3 of his children.
He gave the name of the deceased as Sama’ila Nanna.
Ciroma said, “ I was just called by the Ardo of Inyele in Okoku LGA of Benue state , Ardo Nanna who is the father of the deceased said the attackers came in the early morning of yesterday. They killed one of his children. They also killed 25 cows and went away with 95 cows.”
