2015 : God, deny me victory, if… – el-Rufa’i

Former Minister of Federal Capital Territory and governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State, Malam Nasir el-Rufa’i said God should deny him victory come 2015 if his becoming governor will not bring development and peace to the people of the state.

The former Minister disclosed this as he picked his governorship nomination form at the party’s secretarial in the state at the weekend.

According to him, he always prayed to God that his becoming governor of the state to be a blessing to the state and its people and if it will not let him not get the position.

“Our prayer always to God is to give us opportunity to serve but if it is not so, may God deny us and give to whoever pleases Him for unity, peace, development, justice and progress of our dear state.

“We are not contesting to make money for ourselves; we are not contesting for selfishness but contesting to re-build a new brand Kaduna State,” he said.

Malam el-Rufai was accompanied to the secretariat by his supporters and received by the state party Chairman, Barnabas Bala Bantex and other leaders of the party.

He also called on the people of the state to simply not vote wrongly, saying they must all vote wisely and vote competent people to govern the state.

“My aspiration is not do or die, that is why we don’t use hate or abusive words in our engagement and it is about constructive engagement and genuine demonstration to serve passionately.

“We are running an open campaign for nothing but a new Kaduna State, please join us and let’s run a better system,” he said.

El-Rufa’i who noted that he considered all aspirants as brothers and not enemies maintained that he respect them and won’t make any disparaging comment against any one “because at the end of the day, APC is one family and we will unite to defeat PDP”.
