2015: Grant INEC full autonomy, cleric tells FG

Date:

In order to ensure a free and fair election by 2015, the resident Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel centre in Kubwa, Abuja, Michael Ajogba has urged the Federal Government to grant the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) full autonomy to handle a credible election.

The pastor who stated this in an interview yesterday during his 4 years anniversary and dedication of church auditorium also assured that when there is a free and fair election, people will accept result and value its leadership.

“The past election has not been free and fair, although we will get there. If the serving government will free their hands from everything that INEC has to do, then we can have a free and fair election,” he said.

On the insecurity issues in the country, Ajogba lamented the alarming rate of the waste of innocent lives on daily basis.

According to him, in order to avert insecurity in the country, Nigerian youths, who are majorly used as political thugs and also used to cause violence, shouldn’t be left alone but should be empowered.

He stated that the youths in the country should be engaged through scholarships, because they are the force of any society.

“The government should open up policies and involve the youths more in government. I believe through these security challenges can be greatly handled”.
