Nigeria’s stabilitity concerns all, says SGF

Secretary to Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, has said that the nation’s stanility is of concern to all stakeholders in the country.

This, according to him, explains why the President Goodluck Jonathan administration is giving attention to all segments in its programmes.

Speaking while receiving members of the South West Network (SWN), a political pressure group within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Anyim said members of the group should continue to sensitize the people of the zone on the need to see themselves as important segment of the federation and contribute to the empowerment of the people at the grassroots.

“Your group should look beyond the elections and contribute to developing the consciousness of the people towards the transformation agenda of the present administration. From the calibre of the members, your integrity and level of achievement, your group possess the capacity and credibility to represent the interest of the South West” Anyim said.

He advised them to rally round the leaders of the party in the zone in their quest to achieve unity and reconciliation of the PDP in the zone.

Briefing the SGF, Chairman of the group, Sen Hosea Agboola, the Deputy Chief Whip in the Senate said the group was formed to provide credible interface between the zone and the present administration in the attempt to redress the sliding relevance of the South West in Nigerian Politics.

He said the group was embarking on reconciliation of leaders and providing the platform to rally round the South-West members of the PDP to take their rightful position in the scheme of things.

The group, he said, had visited leaders such as former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Chairman PDP BOT, Chief Tony Anenih, former Deputy Chairman of the PDP, Chief Bode George, Chief Shuaib Oyedokun amongst others.
