Twenty two stakeholders groups of All Progressives Congress, APC have threatened to sue the Kano State Commissioner for Local Governmentsband Chieftaincy Affairs, Murtala Sule Garo if he fail to declare his intention to contest for governorship election in the state in 2023.

The 22 groups, who endorsed Garo for governorship race in 2023 general elections, said they are tied of waiting for him to clearly declare his full intentions to run.

The groups, under the auspices of R- Win Win, in a statement signed by its Chairman, Auwal Dankano, on Sunday, said the decision to endorse the Galadiman Garo, was after a careful deliberation among the members on whom to support, who could deliver the dividend of democracy to the people.

The statement added that the group issued a two-week ultimatum to Garo to declare his intention or face legal action.

According to the statement, the endorsement was due to his vast experience in governance and the need to get an astute politician who can continue the good work of Dr. Abdullahi Umar.

 The group promised to ensure that as stakeholders of the ruling APC, Garo emerge as the successor of Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of the state.

They argued that with the vast experience of managing 44 Local Government  areas of Kano State in the last eight years of Ganduje administration, Garo who was also a former Local Government  Chairman himself, remains the reliable successor of the governor.

“Therefore, we have fully prepared to ensure that Murtala Sule Garo emerges as the next Governor of Kano, but that does not mean we will coarse anybody to do our bidding. The fieled would remain open for true democratic contests”.
