2023: Cleric warns politicians against using religion to divide Nigerians

Dr Moses Omojo, a clergyman in Kaduna, has warned politiians not to divide Nigerians on the basis of religion.

He urged the politicians to stop using God’s name in vain, saying wordly things are immeasurable to the standard of God.

According to him, since politicians are bent on winning at all costs, they devise different ways to get attention, including using religion to bring hatred among Nigerians who have lived in peace with one another for several years.

“Politicians nowadays want to win by all means. They adopted different means, including religion. They use the name of God in unholy ways just because of worldly things. They should stop using the name of God for worldly affairs, and do the right thing,” he said,

“If you are faithful doing the right things, be focus and provide dividends of democracy to the people of your constituency, nothing will stop them from voting for you,” the Regional Pastor of the United Evangelical Church added.

Dr. Omojo also frowned at some political parties using Muslim-Muslim or Christian-Christian, or Christian-Muslim tickets noting that all that will not make them win the election, but their attitude towards the electorates.
