The Saudi Arabia Ministry of Health has revealed that it has recorded a first natural childbirth in the 2023 Hajj exercise.
This time around, the ministry said it has recorded the childbirth from a Nigerian pilgrim, who delivered in Maternity and Children Hospital in Makkah during the peak period of the Hajj exercise.
The ministry stated that the pilgrim gave birth to a baby boy when all the pilgrims were at Mina observing the pilgrimage, adding that the baby had been named Abdul Rahman, who is the first born in Hajj this year.
The ministry, in a statement on Thursday, confirmed that: “the patient was received from the hospital emergency room by ambulance, and she is 39 weeks pregnant, as she was suffering from labor pains before childbirth.
“Praise be to God, she gave birth naturally, and she is in good health, praise be to God,” part of the statement reads.”
The Ministry of Health stated that the hospital is making every effort to provide the best services to pilgrims to the Sacred House to deal with emergency cases, “and to achieve distinguished health and medical services on international standards in the field of women, obstetrics and children.”
The health ministry, in the statement said the Nigerian woman expressed her deep thanks and gratitude to the medical staff for the excellent care for her and her child.
“It is noteworthy that the maternity hospital annually receives a number of deliveries during the Hajj season, to whom it gives all attention and care,” the statement concluded.
