Akwa Ibom state governor, and presidential aspirant, Mr Udom Emmanuel, has described himself as the general that can bring victory to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general elections.

Udom, made this assertion yesterday when he stormed the national secretariat of the main opposition party, to lobby the National Working Committee (NWC) members, in Abuja.

While pointing out that in time of war, one doesn’t use recruits but generals, he told the NWC that he’s the best candidate for the job, come 2023.

In his words: “We are challenged as a nation. The party is about going to war. And if you want to go to war, you cannot leave your generals and start dealing with recruits.

“You have the generals in your team and we’re ready to march on to victory. And I’m trying to let you know that if you look around the country today there are issues in Nigeria, so people want to see those that will bring solution and not create more problems.

“They want to see those who will be bridge builders and not create further division.

“They want to see those, who have capacity and will re-construct the economic and the social order of Nigeria and very few of them have decided to come up at this time.

Continuing, the Akwa Ibom Governor said, “I am standing here today that I understand clearly,  the economic issues of Nigeria today. That i understand clearly the security issues of Nigeria today that I have a solution all in one on the infrastructure renascence of Nigeria today, that I have a solution of human capacity development that this country needs.

“Why? Because I’m one of those frontliners that believe the problem with Nigeria is not unemployment, but capacity development.

“I am one of those who do not stand by and tell people what to do and will never tell how to do it. Because everybody has the mouth to say what to do, but very few will be able to tell you how to do it.

“Why am I saying this? I’ve been tested, I’ve been tried and I think I’ve been refined”, he pointed out.
