2023: My plans to industrialize Akwa-Ibom – Accord candidate

The gubernatorial candidate of Accord in Akwa-Ibom in the next years’ elections, Engr. Emem Coffie has said that full industrialization of the state will be his priority if elected governor.

Coffie, who made this known while speaking as a guest on a digital broadband TStv’s political affairs programme, ‘The Nigeria Watch’ monitored in Abuja stated that full industrialization of the state will provide the much needed jobs for the teaming Akwa-Ibomites given the fact that oil revenue has dwindled over time.

The Nsit-Ubium born politician said he was in the race to unite the people for progress and oneness, saying that was the main thrust of the party.

He lamented that Akwa-Ibom has deviated from the plans of its founding fathers in the areas of unity of purpose and hence the need to get back to the old good days of prosperity and transformation.

The Civil Engineer turned politician stressed the need to avoid polarization of the people and think beyond politics to develop the state.

Coffie cautioned that the world was going beyond oil and Akwa-Ibom should wake up to this emerging reality by encouraging and supporting Small Scale Enterprise for maximum transformation and economic retooling.

He expressed his readiness to institute financial discipline on the people which he said will be a roadmap to full industrialization.
