• Says party’s decision must be respected

The Chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Walid Jibrin has called on all members of the party to accept in good faith the choice of Delta State Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa as the party’s presidential running mate.
Okowa was unveiled by the party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar yesterday in Abuja.
The BoT Chairman, in a statement personally signed by him in Abuja, urged all members of the party to accept the decision in good faith and give the strongest support to Atiku Abubakar as President of Nigeria and Dr Okowa as his Vice President.
He further harped on the need for both Muslims and Christians in the country to come together to give their support to Atiku and Okowa.
According to Senator Jibrin, “this decision must be generally accepted as the act of God who gives life to who He wants and takes away life from who wants”.
The PDP, according to the Chairman of the BoT, is greater than any party in Nigeria, especially the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Continuing, he said, “All PDP members must come together to unite for PDP to take over from APC government of Buhari.
“All Muslims and Christians must come together and forget any religious differences and regard Nigeria as one entity.
“All Nigerians should vote for PDP to ensure that Atiku and Okowa are fully accepted and voted for”, he said.
