
The first female aspirant, Hajia Aisha Ahman-Patigi has made public her intention to vie for the Kwara governorship seat in the 2027 general elections under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC).
In her declaration speech in Ilorin, Ahman-Patigi described herself as a daughter of Kwara, servant of the people and mother who understands what it means to carry the hopes of many.
The governorship aspirant pledged to build solutions that empower people through financial inclusion, education, and opportunity.
She aligned with the Renewed Hope vision of President Bola Tinubu, a vision focused on economic growth, national development, and inclusive prosperity.
Ahman-Patigi praised Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, whose efforts have laid important foundations for growth, stability, and governance.
The aspirant who is a former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in Kwara pledged economic empowerment, job creation and innovation if elected.
She also said emphasis would be laid on agriculture, industrial growth, energy and infrastructure development.
Earlier in his remark, the chairman of the occasion, and former Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Mr. Benjamin Yisa explained that Ahman-Patigi is coming to play a significant role as the first female governor in the state.
Yisa said her intelligence and knowledge would be beneficial to the state and described her as a beautiful damsel with clean heart.
Also speaking, Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Communication, Mr. Jerry Kolo lauded Hajia Ahman-Patigi for being courageous in making her intention public.
