Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly have declared their support for Ahmed Aliyu Wadada as the preferred successor to Governor Abdullahi Sule ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
The position was reached during a majority caucus meeting of APC lawmakers, where issues relating to party unity and recent political developments in the state were discussed.
Speaker of the House, Danladi Jatau, who briefed journalists after the meeting, said the lawmakers are fully aligned with the governor’s choice and remain committed to party cohesion.
According to him, the legislators resolved to support Wadada’s emergence, stressing that their loyalty to the party and its leadership remains unwavering.
Jatau also commended Governor Sule’s leadership style, noting that the cooperation between the executive and legislative arms has fostered stability and development in the state.
Reiterating their stance, the lawmakers said their earlier commitment to back any aspirant endorsed by the governor still stands, adding that all party stakeholders should rally behind Wadada.
The Speaker further urged other APC governorship aspirants to accept the decision in the interest of unity and work collectively towards the party’s success in the 2027 general elections.
