Thirty One (31) indigenes of Katsina state that were sold in Burkina Faso have returned home yesterday after been rescued by Katsina state government.
The tired and huge looking young men who are in their mid-30s were presented to the state governor, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari.
The special adviser to the state governor on drugs, narcotics and trafficking, Alhaji Hamza Brodo was the state government official that traveled to Burkina Faso and brought them home.
It was gathered that the young men were trafficked to Benin Republic and sold to a woman who inturn sold them to another slave marchant in Burkina Faso.
It was further gathered that while in Burkina Faso the victims work as slave labourers in a mine.
The victims it was also uncovered were trafficked by an agent, Alhaji Usman who is now at large.
