Four men were yesterday arraigned in an Abeokuta Magistrates’ Court sitting at Isabo for allegedly stealing four cows valued at N400,000.
The accused, of no fixed address and occupation, are Adigun Olabode, 30; Olumide Kolawole, 35; Emmanuel Adelakun, 27, and Mukaila Salami, 26.
The prosecutor, Insp Augustine Ozimini, told the court that the offence was committed on March 6 around 11 p.m. at Isaga-Orile in Abeokuta.
He said that the accused conspired to steal the cows belonging to one Kazeem Opeloyeru.
“The four accused entered into Opeloyeru’s cattle ranch in the night and stole four cows.
“They were caught carrying one cow each,” he said.
He said the that the offences contravened sections 516, 390 (3) and (9) of the Criminal Code Laws of Ogun, 2006.
The accused, who were arraigned on a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing, however, pleaded not guilty.
The Magistrate, Mr Emmanuel Adekunte, admitted them on bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties each in like sum.
Adekunte adjourned the case to April 8 for mention. (NAN)
