Date:

From Umar Dankano Yola

The chairman of Demsa Local Government Area in Adamawa state,Honourable Wale Fwa has debunked the speculation being peddled that the recent relief materials sent to the people affected by the herdsmen/farmers crisis in the council did not reach them, insisting it was just mere rumour by mischief makers.
Honourable Fwa on Wednesday in Yola confirmed receipt of relief materials from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the State Emergency Management Agency (ADSEMA) for distribution to affected persons affected by the clashes.
Fwa, a former member of the Adamawa State Assembly explained that, the materials have since been distributed to all the parties involved in the clashes.
She said both parties showed gratitude for the materials sent in by the government through NEMA and ADSEMA.
In response to a question, Wale Fwa said so far the areas are calm with someone even calling her to say some people are returning to the affected villages
She expressed the hope that peace is finally coming and was quick to commend security operatives for their resilience in ensuring that peace reigns in those areas.
“The security agencies can be seen all over doing their best to restore confidence to the people,” She said.
Fwa also cautioned people in the crisis areas to desist from peddling information that are not factual noting that wrong or false information always escalate the already fragile situation.
