As the country enters 2018 which is described as electioneering year the Bishop of Kaduna Diocese, Anglican Communion RT Rev.Timoty Yahaya had said political thuggery will not be tolerated by Nigerians.
He stated this in a New year massage he delivered in Kaduna yesterday.
According to him the year will usher in a lot of political activities but warned politicians to desist from the use of thugs to intimidate opponents.
‘Thuggery will only lead to unnecessary killing of people and wanton destruction of property.
“To me the Election umpire should ban any politicians who use thugs during campaign.
“I also called on my fellow clergy to inform their congregation on the danger of thuggery, in fact they should tell them to black list such politicians because they don’t mean well for the people,” he said
Bishop Yahaya advised politicians to avoid campaign of ethnic and religion rather lay emphasis on issue based and Developmental campaign
The Cleric further called on the Federal Government to address the insecurity in the country especially kidnappings and Herdsmen/Farmers clashes, saying the two is fast becoming a monster.
