GROUP warns Kaduna govt against mass sack

Group under the auspices of Maina Zazzau Communications Committee, said the ongoing massive workers sack by Kaduna state Government would leads to increase in crime rates in the state.
According to the group, the action by the government will equally bring about poverty and hunger among the citizens of the state.
The Group disclosed this in a statement signed by its Secretary, Ibrahim Adamu Zango, and made available to newsmen in the state in reaction to the continued workers laid off by the Governor Ahmed El-rufai’s administration.
Kaduna state government had disclosed its plan to lay off about 30,000 teachers including locals government workers across the state.
The group said: “This move is not only insensitive to the extreme economic headship plaguing the citizens but antithetical to the stated policy of the ruling party to generate employment opportunities to the teeming unemployed.
“It’s a scheme set to undo the minimal gains recorded by President Muhammadu Buhari’s Npower project and the economic diversification programme of his administration.”.
The group further said if the ultimate objective of the state government was massive reduction of workforce across ministries, Departments and Agencies there were better ways to go about it.
“We stand in complete opposition to the anti -workers policies of governor Nasir El’Rufai that are deepening poverty and deprivations as well as circumscribing the fundamental rights of the people, particularly workers in the state.
“The basic minimum is that the principle of collective bargaining in Labour relations as enshrined in our national Labour laws and conventions of the International Labour Organization must be followed ,” he said.
