NPF unveils vigilant app, MTN CUG Network

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Dis is set to officially launch the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) Vigilant App and MTN Closed User Group (CUG) Network on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at the Nigeria Police Resource Centre, FCT, Abuja.

This was contained in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja on Monday by the Force Spokesperson, CSP Ani Iniedu.

According to the statement, “the initiative is part of the Nigeria Police Force’s ongoing efforts to strengthen technology-driven policing, enhance communication and improve operational efficiency across the Force.

It added that the NPF Vigilant App was designed to support improved engagement, information sharing and communication between the Police and members of the public, while the MTN CUG Network would provide a dedicated communication platform to facilitate seamless and efficient communication among personnel of the Force.

The statement further explained that the launch underscored the commitment of the Inspector-General of Police to leveraging modern technology and strategic partnerships to enhance policing, strengthen internal coordination and improve service delivery to Nigerians.

It reaffirmed that the Nigeria Police Force remained committed to harnessing technology, innovation and strategic partnerships to strengthen policing, enhance operational effectiveness and deliver more responsive, efficient and people-centred security services to Nigerians.
