Varsity don decries widening gap between rich, poor in Nigeria

A University don, Prof. Stephen Monday Omodia has decried the widening gap between the rich and poor in Nigeria.
He said this yesterday while delivering the 1st Inaugural lecture series of Edo University, Iyamho in Edo State, titled:
“Bourgeoisification of the Nigerian Political Process and the Search for Good Governance”.
According to him, “the focus of the rich is on how to get richer, how to buy private jets while that of the poor is on how efficient public transportation system could be provided by government as regards governance.
Omodia who is the Deputy Vice Chancellor of the institution, advocated the need for political parties and electoral reforms in in order to deepen the democratic space with a view to strengthen weak organisation network and poor democratic culture.
