Tanker crunches 78-year old man in Delta

A tanker driver along Sapele Agbor road at the weekend crushed to death a 78 years old man around Umuebu junction in Obiaruku Community, Ukwani Local Government Area of Delta State.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeyaga confirmed to journalists that a vulcanizer and gas refiller whose shops were located at the exact Spot the accident occurred narrowly escaped death even as they sustained serious injuries in the process, adding that the driver of the tanker with registration number APP 161 XE lost control while he was on high speed and rammed into the old man who died on the spot, while the driver was arrested and he is currently being detained at Obiaruku Police station for further investigation.
In another development, tragedy struck in Asaba at the weekend following the discovery of a dismembered body around a popular hotel ( name withheld) along Nnebisi road.
It was gathered that the victim had been lying on the road for over a day after getting himself drunk at struggling for breath for days after he allegedly got himself soaked in Alcoholic beverages. Sources said that the unidentified man was seen at about 12.00pm on the fateful weekend still writhing in pains with all parts of his body intact, but found dead in the early hours of Saturday without his head and some vital part of his body.
Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya Confirmed the incident saying that investigation was ongoing with a view to bringing the Culprits to arrest as soon as possible and allayed the fear of the unknown in the area.
