Covid’19: The Chairman Kebbi State Task Force Committee on coronavirus, Hon Jafaru Muhammad has said that the second victim of Covid 19 recorded in the state has passed on and the dead body has been transferred to Benue State.
Addressing the Press Conference at the WHO premises Birnin Kebbi, the chairman said that the patient was transferred from Sokoto Teaching Hospital to the FMC Birnin Kebbi for further medical treatment.
He said that the patient’s sample had been taken to the Nigeria Disease Control Center from FMC Birnin Kebbi while the result came out positive and the patient died a day after.
“The patient is an indigene of Benue State and also a diabetic patient with high blood pressure, he died after discovering the Covid 19 sickness in him and later the parents took the dead body to Sokoto and later moved it to Benue for the final burial,” he said.
He then appealed to the people of the state to remain calm and continue to demonstrate the social distancing, uses of face masks and sanitizer which is the only remedy to rescued the people and safe many lives.
