From Ahmed Kaigama, Bauchi

The Emir of Bauchi, Dr. Rilwan Suleiman Adamu has implored journalists across the county to show a sense of responsibility and to always give accurate and objective reports as, according to him, the nation relies on them for information and meaningful reporting.

He made the call yesterday at his palace in Bauchi, when the leadership of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), National Executive Council (NEC) members, who were in Bauchi for the NEC meeting, paid him homage.

Suleiman said that the media are pillars of the society and, as such, they should not be used by some unpatriotic elements in the society that may try to cause disharmony in the communities.

the benefit of young ones.

The NUJ president added there is the need for Federal Government to

constitutionally include the roles of traditional rulers in the nation’s

Constitution, being the custodians of the people and in consideration of their

proximity to their subjects.

Garba maintained that government should accord the traditional rulers all the necessary recognition, explaining that lack of government recognition has been responsible for the wide-gab between the government and the traditional rulers.
