Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has reconciled with Barau Jibrin, Senator, representing Kano North Senstorial District, Peoples Daily has gathered.

Recalled that Ganduje and Barau were at loggerheads when the later joined former governor of the state, Ibrahim Shekarau to form a faction in the All Progessives Congress, APC, immediately after the party’s state congresses late last year.

While Mr Shekarau is set to leave the party, Barau had reportedly resolved to remain in the party to contest the Senate with the governor in the same Senstorial District.

However, this newspaper gathered that Ganduje and Barau had reconciled when they met in Abuja to undergo screening for the Senate contest.

Inside sources said the duo had held a reconciliatory meeting, facilitated by some party’s stakeholders, and eventually resolved the matter amicably.

It was gathered that part of the reconciliation, the governor agreed to withdraw his senatorial ambition for Barau, who was said to have already obtained the nomination form.

The Secretary of the APC, Zakari Sarina, when contacted in a telephone on Monday,  confirmed the development, saying “it is true. The report is true.
