Niger Delta group faults US report on Lagos

Date:

United Niger Delta Energy Development Security Strategy (UNDEDSS) led by Professor Pat Utomi yesterday condemned the mode by which the United States chose to warn its citizens and others, of suspected terror attack on Lagos.

In a statement signed by its Secretary General, Mr. Tony Iprinye Uranta after its 15th emergency meeting in Lagos, the group argued that the mode did not conform to responsible dissemination of information, and could even be said to be the terror acts and threats.

The group added that it is not impossible that it was probably a mischievous attempt by intelligence elements in the US system, to achieve a self-fulfilling prophesy of a Boko Haram attack in Lagos.

The aim, they said, could be to create fear before the commencement of the World Economic Forum, and thus create the impression that the whole of Nigeria is insecure, with the possible sinister aim of further plunging Nigeria into the failed-state status the US had, until very recently, loudly predicted we’d be in by 2015, next year!”

The group also expressed surprise that none of the World powers has come to Nigeria’s aid to date, in deploying their great satellite monitoring powers to help forestall Boko Haram carnage, both in the North Central and North Eastern regions of Nigeria; or, to track the fleeing human beasts after they would carried out their inhumane attacks on hapless villagers, even where, as in the Chibok case, they carted away hundreds of young innocent girls.

UNDEDSS also condemned the gross ineptitude of Nigeria’s security forces which it accused of apparently operating so blindly that they even joined in misleading the world that a majority of the abducted girls from Chibok had been rescued. The group wondered why no heads have rolled, publicly, after that faux pas by the military’s PR Unit!

“The continuing level of porosity of national borders is also a cause of worry to the group and it urged the Federal Government to take a cue from other countries, including the USA, that have deemed it necessary to put up border fences/walls/barriers in an attempt to curb the influx of illegal aliens,” the group said
