The Sarkin (Chief) of tudun Fulani, Piri community in Kwali Area Council of the FCT, Alhaji Aliyu Abubakar, has called on the Chairman of the Area Council, Hon. Danladi Chiya to recognize the Fulani herdsmen residing in the area, while charging the chairman to bring back a polling unit of piri primary school.
He said if the polling unit of piri Primary school was brought back, it would enable the Fulani herdsmen to vote for the candidates of their choice during the election.
He then expressed with dismay that the Fulani herdsmen in tudun Fulani used to travel out to other neighbouring villages such Kwaita, Kamadi and Gomani to cast their votes during the election, as the box of their polling unit was taken to Yangoji.
Alhaji Aliyu Abubakar, who made the call in an interview with Peoples Daily Correspondent at Yangoji in Kwali Area Council, also pleaded with the council Chairman to provide jobs for the Fulani Youths who had graduated from the institutions of higher learning.
He further appealed to the Chairman to place the Fulani chiefs on the monthly salaries to enable them to feel the impact of the Area Council, begging the Chairman to fence the Nomadic school located in Piri Community.
He tasked the Chairman to erect a clinic in tudun fulani in order to prevent the residents of piri community from travelling out for medical treatment, pledging to support the Kwali Area Council Administration.
Aliyu Abubakar asked the Chairman to provide potable drinking for the people of tudun Fulani to alleviate their sufferings during the dry season and hailed the Chairman for rehabilitating some roads in Kwali Area Council.o
