A retired judge of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court of Justice, Hon. Justice Mwada Balami, has urged the Yoruba Community in Gwagwalada Area Council to be law-abiding citizens anywhere they live.
Balami, who stated this while addressing the crowd at the cultural day celebration of the Yoruba Community in Gwagwalada on Saturday, further urged the Yoruba to continue to live in peace in the area.
He called on Nigerians to embrace one another irrespective of their tribal and religious differences, noting that Nigeria is a place where Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa and other tribes can exercise their rights at all times.
Balami, however, told the gathering that he would continue to support the Yoruba Community despite its division or faction in the area.
In an interview at the occasion, the President of the Yoruba Community in the FCT, Dr. Abdul-Hakeem Adetunji, said he would not hesitate to give the necessary cooperation and support to the Yoruba Community in Gwagwalada.
He commended the Gwagwalada Yoruba community for organizing a peaceful cultural day free of rancor and acrimony.
On his part, the Chairman of the Yoruba Community in Gwagwalada, Mr. Elekun Abdul-Azeez, said he would continue in Gwagwalada its environs along in the affairs of things.
Abdul-Azeez used the cultural celebration to appeal to the Chairman of Gwagwalada Area Council, Hon. Abubakar Jibrin Giri to provide jobs for the Yoruba youths as well empower the Yoruba women in order to be self-reliance in the society.
