Radda Mourns Former Katsina South Senator, Bello Mandiya

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has expressed shock and sadness over the death of former Senator representing Katsina South, Senator Bello Mandiya, who died on Monday, September 7, 2026, at the age of 62.

Governor Radda described the death as a great loss to Katsina State, particularly the people of Katsina South and the political community.

“I received with shock and deep sadness the news of the death of Senator Bello Mandiya. His passing is a great loss to Katsina State and Nigeria,” he said.

He described the late Senator as a committed public servant who contributed to the development of Katsina State and Nigeria.

“Senator Mandiya dedicated part of his life to public service and served our people with commitment. His contributions will remain remembered,” he added.

The governor recalled that Senator Mandiya served as Chief of Staff to former Governor Aminu Bello Masari before being elected to the Senate, where he represented Katsina South from 2019 to 2023.

“His experience and service at both the state and federal levels remain part of his legacy,” he said.

Radda condoled with the late Senator’s family, former Governor Aminu Bello Masari, the people of Katsina South, his political associates and friends, as well as his colleagues in the 9th Nigerian Senate.

“I pray Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings, reward his good deeds and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus. May Allah give his family and loved ones the strength to bear this painful loss,” he added.
