Zamfara State Focal Nongovernmental Health Standard Concern Organization (HESCO) in collaboration with Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) has trained facilitators on group dynamics and development and participatory rural appraisal.

The training, which drew 55 participants from 2 catchment communities of 3 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Bungudu, Gusau, and Kaura Namoda, aimed to equipped facilitators with the necessary skills and knowledge to support communities in promoting sustainable development and resilience.

The training session mainly focused on providing knowledge for the project’s facilitators on how they would encourage locals’ participation and collaboration, and to apply methods capable of making them foster trust and respect in the process of running the project across benefiting communities.

Speaking during the training, the state Executive Director of HESCO, Abdullahi Lawali Bungudu, emphasized the need for the facilitators to always apply the knowledge they have acquired in making sure conflicts amongst the members of the communities especially in decision-making are resolved.

“For the ACReSAL project to be successful, as facilitators, you must ensure equal opportunity while making deliberations on matters related to aims and objectives of the project, all voices should be listen to and encourage inclusion of all”, Bungudu has solicited.
