Dr. Abubakar Sadiq Fakai, national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Integrity Movement, has resigned from the party to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC). In a letter dated July 24, 2025, Fakai cited a period of introspection and earnest dialogue with his conscience regarding the party’s current direction.
Fakai’s resignation follows extensive consultation with his family, leaders, friends, and constituents, who collectively expressed concerns over the party’s deviation from the path of good governance and inconsistency in meeting the expectations of Nigerians. As a former APC Northwest Zonal youth leader, Fakai’s influence spans across 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
