Niger PDP tackles Gov Bago over zero hardship claim National Television

The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Niger North (Zone C), Alhaji Yahaya Ability, has faulted the claims made by Governor Mohammed Umar Bago that there is no hardship in the state.
Recall the Governor while featuring in a recent interview program on a national television asserted that residents are enjoying the dividends of his administration devoid of security threats in the state.
But, in a swift response, Yahaya Ability dismissed the Governor’s remarks and claims as misleading and far from the reality on ground in the state.
He further recalled that on the same day Governor Bago visited Kontagora, armed bandits mounted a roadblock around Gidan Kwaruru near Rijiyar Nagwamatse, just a few kilometers from Kontagora town.
The incident, according to him, held motorists hostage for nearly an hour before security personnel intervened.
“The reality is that Nigerlites are experiencing untold hardship and living in fear, contrary to the rosy picture painted by the Governor on national television”, he added.
Ability therefore urged Nigerians to verify the Governor’s claims directly from the people of Niger State, adding that hardship and insecurity remain widespread across the state.
The opposition leader also described the Governor’s remarks as “mere political propaganda filled with deception, typical of the APC government that has failed to deliver tangible benefits to the people.”
