Kwara United gaffer, Tunde Sanni has been sacked. Coach Sanni was sacked on Sunday following his side’s 0-1 home defeat against Abịa Warriors in Ilorin
The defeat came after he was issued a three-match ultimatum to turn around the fortunes of the club following their disastrous elimination from the CAF Confederation Cup where they lost the two-leg first preliminary round to Asante Kotoko of Ghana
The home defeat on Sunday was the last strike the nailed the termination of his contract.
Coach Sanni led Kwara United to win the FA Cup this year after beating Abakaliki FC on penalties.
The club confirmed Coach Sanni’s departure immediately after the home loss on their social media.

The club added “It was heartbreak for Kwara United as the team suffered a 1–0 home defeat to Abia Warriors in their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 7 encounter on Sunday at the Rashidi Yekini Main Bowl of the Kwara State Stadium Complex, Ilorin.
“Kwara United currently sit 10th on the league table after six games and will face Kano Pillars on Wednesday in their outstanding Matchday 6 fixture.
“Meanwhile, following the disappointing home loss, Club Chairman Mr. Kumbi Titiloye confirmed to the club’s media that Coach Tunde Sanni has been asked to step aside as Technical Adviser. He announced that Assistant Coach Ashifat Suleiman will take charge of the team with immediate effect.”
