The almost daily official flagging off and commissioning of projects by the Federation Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) is all about dividends of democracy, according to FCT Minister, Barr. Nyesom Wike.
Wike attributed such feat to the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who according to him, has shown the right leadership model for the FCTA to follow, and keep achieving results for the people.
He made this assertion yesterday while performing the official commissioning of access road within Sector Centre, in Daki Biyu District, Abuja.
“ People are talking about the achievements we have made, it is because of the right leadership. When you have the right leadership, you get things right and you get things going.
“I’m sure all those who work around this place will begin to reminisce, was it where we used to work? Is this the Daki Biyu District that we used to come to? Nigerians, we owe a lot to the President.
“Like it is being said, tongues will wag, but once you are focused, you are focused, and you will achieve results.
“Take it sector by sector. Is Mr. President doing well? Let’s start from Abuja because everybody has to show his own report card. As far as FCT is concerned, no matter how you may hate anybody, no matter how you felt as you lost the election, somebody has to win.
“So, even if you hate Mr. President, can you deceive yourself to the point that you will say nothing is going on in FCT? Certainly not.
“See how we come every day, either to flag off or to commission. And that is what Dividends of Democracy is all about.
“They (critics) say we are concentrating on roads. I say, take it easy”. Very soon, they will see we will be focusing on the schools. So critics have nothing again to say. They wake up in the morning, they turn on their national television, they see FCT.
“So, we have kept them busy, and we will do it for the next another 10 days of flagging off and commissioning of projects”, he stated.
The minister continued: “I also want to thank, particularly, the FCDA through the Acting ES, for the support. Most of these projects we have been the commissioning, have been under you and the coordinator of STDD.
“Next year, Mr. President’s third year anniversary, Nigerians will see what they have never seen before. So, all I am pleading with all of you, Nigerians to continue to be patient. We will get to the promised land. Through Mr. President, it will be a different narrative. You can see it coming.”
