Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has called out Nigeria’s Defence Minister, Christopher Musa, urging him to take decisive action following the latest violence in Angwan Rukuba, Jos.
The lawmaker’s reaction comes after reports that several people were killed in the community, further heightening concerns over insecurity in Jos, Plateau State.
In a strongly worded message, Akpoti-Uduaghan said the incident is another sign that many Nigerians remain exposed despite repeated assurances from security authorities.
She recalled the commitments made by the defence minister during his Senate screening, noting that expectations were high at the time.
However, she stressed that Nigerians are no longer interested in promises, but want to see real improvements in security.
“Angwan Rukuba is another brutal reminder that Nigerians remain unprotected,” she wrote.
The senator urged the military leadership to go beyond condolences and take concrete steps to tackle the situation, warning that continued attacks without a firm response could further erode public trust.
“Prove NOW you are different and secure lives, or step aside. Enough of condolences. Enough of excuses. Nigerians want action, protection, and results,” she added.
