As part of activities marking the 2026 National Police Day, the Sokoto State Police Command, led by the Commissioner of Police, CP Hayatu Hassan Shaffa, organized sensitization lectures at the Sokoto Central Motor Park.
The event was attended by the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 10, AIG Gyogon A. Grimah, alongside key stakeholders, members of the Police-Community Relations Committee (PCRC), youth groups, motor park leaders, drivers, as well as members of the Road Transport Owners’ Association, Okada Riders’ Association, and Tricycle Riders’ Association.
This was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday in Sokoto and signed by the Command’s spokesperson, Ahmad Rufa’i.
During the programme, CSP Sidi G. Shinkafi, Officer-in-Charge of the State Motor Traffic Division, delivered a lecture on the importance of safe driving practices, while CSP Abdulaziz Isha Baura, Divisional Police Officer of Kwanni, spoke on the dangers of electoral violence.
In his address, the AIG in charge of Zone 10, Sokoto, commended members of the public for their cooperation in tackling crime and urged residents of the Caliphate to shun all forms of violence, particularly during the election period.
He also called on road users to strictly adhere to traffic rules and safety regulations.
