Commonwealth Peace Prize Laureate praises KADCCAM for climate change advocacy

Rev. Dr. James Wuye, co-recipient of the 2025 Commonwealth Peace Prize, has praised the Kaduna State Climate Change Accountability Mechanism (KADCCAM) for its dedication to raising awareness on climate change accountability through both online and offline media.
During a brief meeting at Teku International Farms in Kaduna, Rev. Dr. Wuye commended KADCCAM for utilizing various platforms to educate the public about the harmful effects of environmental pollution.
He specifically highlighted the group’s campaigns against bush burning and its efforts to reduce environmental degradation.
He said he has been following KADCCAM’s activities through newspapers, radio, and online news, noting the group’s advocacy to ministries and stakeholders on environmental protection.
Rev. Dr. Wuye also recognized the organization’s engagement with civil society groups in pushing for stronger climate action.
The peace prize winner praised the Kaduna State Commissioner of Environment, Honorable Abubakar Buba, and all KADCCAM members for their contributions toward improving Kaduna State.
