Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has approved the creation of a high-level Consensus Committee on Party Unity and Aspirants’ Engagement as part of ongoing efforts to improve internal democracy, foster cohesion among stakeholders, and maintain party unity ahead of the upcoming elections.
According to a statement released by the Honorable Commissioner for Information and Culture, Malam Ahmed Maiyaki, the initiative aims to promote mediation and constructive engagement among aspirants across the state, while encouraging mutual understanding, political stability, and consensus-building within the party.
The Commissioner explained that the Committee will engage with aspirants, party leaders, and other key stakeholders to facilitate amicable resolutions in constituencies with multiple interests, while also supporting voluntary withdrawals when necessary to promote party harmony and electoral success.
“The constitution of this Committee reflects the commitment of Governor Uba Sani to inclusive leadership, internal cohesion, and preserving unity within the party,” the statement said.
The Committee is led by the Deputy Governor, with the Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly serving as a member. Other members include the State Party Chairman, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), the Chief of Staff to the Governor, the Honorable Commissioner for Justice and Attorney-General, the Honorable Commissioner for Information and Culture, and the Deputy Chief of Staff for Legal Services. The State Party Secretary will serve as the Committee’s Secretary.
