My gubernatorial ambition in God’s hand, says Deputy Senate Leader

The Senate  Deputy Leader, Senator  Abdul Ahmed Ningi of Bauchi state has declared that his   gubernatorial ambition is in the hand of God just as he appealed to the leadership of the party to provide level playing field to all aspirants in the state.

Senate Abdul who is aspiring to be Bauchi state governor under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stated this while addressing a mammoth crowd of supporters and stakeholders of Bauchi North (Katagum zone) that comprises 7 LGAs at a meeting organized in continuation of consultation on his gubernatorial ambition in Azare Eskay cinema weekend

According to him, I am not looking unto anybody over my gubernatorial ambition, it is only God that made a person.

He reiterated that “we are not waiting for somebody like us to give us ticket or realize our ambition. but God who made us and have all the power to make whoever he wants to be the governor of Bauchi state.

“Power belongs to God , and God as at now knows who He will give the power to and  He does not need to negotiate with anybody”.

“I will contest because the people  have called on me.  I believe that my party knows the value of experience and they know that in order to deepen democracy they will require experience of very credible and well experienced persons and I have all it takes to move the state forward.

“I am appealing to the party’s leadership to ensure all aspirants were given level playing ground during the party’s primaries” Ningi said.

Senator Ahmed Ningi representing Bauchi central at the senate, insisted that all eligible aspirants should be given equal opportunity to contest for the party’s flag at the primaries.

Abdul Ahmed Ningi was elected to the National Assembly in 1999, and re-elected in 2003, when he became the House Leader in the 5th Assembly (2003–2007) in 2011 was elected in to the senate  a Deputy Senate Leader.

“I am  callin  on all  my  supporters in the state to be  law abiding without taking the laws in their hands, that God will choose a governor  for them come 2015 and again my  message to the party, is for the party to be fair and provide a level playing field to all the contestants in all the election” he reiterated.

Also speaking, chairman of the occasion, former Speaker of the state assembly, Alhaji Maigari Yerima Papa said Bauchi central has never  produced the governor and as such they  deserve a chance to govern the state.

Yerima described Senator Ningi as one of the PDP backbones in the state who has  contributed immensely towards the sustenance of the party “therefore he should be given the opportunity.”

In his remark the vice Chairman PDP Bauchi North, Alhaji Haruna Shittu, represented by Alhaji YaYanusa Zainabari, harped on the need for unity in Bauchi PDP to avoid anything that will cause disaffection among party faithful.
