The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has reduced the ex-depot prices of Premium Motor Spirit, popularly known as petrol, and Automotive Gas Oil, otherwise called diesel, in a move aimed at making petroleum products more affordable for consumers and businesses.
The refinery announced that the ex-depot price of petrol had been slashed by N50 per litre, from N1,215 to N1,165, while diesel was reduced by N80 per litre, from N1,650 to N1,570.
The price adjustment was disclosed in a statement issued by the Dangote Group on Wednesday.
The company said the review forms part of its efforts to enhance energy affordability, improve access to refined petroleum products and support economic activities across the country.
According to the refinery, the reduction reflects its commitment to supplying affordable and high-quality petroleum products while maintaining a stable and reliable supply to the Nigerian market.
The statement read, “Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the ex-depot prices of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and Automotive Gas Oil (Diesel), reaffirming its commitment to providing affordable, high-quality petroleum products to the Nigerian market.”
It added that the revised prices underscore the refinery’s determination to ease the cost of energy for consumers and businesses.
“The revised prices reflect the refinery’s ongoing efforts to make energy more affordable and improve access to refined petroleum products for Nigerians,” the company stated.
The refinery said it would continue to leverage operational efficiencies to deliver value to consumers, businesses and other stakeholders, while passing on the benefits whenever market conditions permit.
It also reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s energy security by reducing dependence on imported petroleum products through increased local refining capacity.
Dangote Refinery noted that its operations remain focused on supporting the country’s economic development through the consistent supply of world-class refined petroleum products.
