Kebbi Governor Creates 2 New Districts in Arugungu
Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris has approved the creation of two new districts in Arugungu Local Government Area of the state.
The approval was contained in a statement signed by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Garba Umar Dutsinmari, and made available to journalists in Birnin Kebbi on Wednesday.
The two new districts in Arugungu municipality include Yamman District with headquarter at Gungu while Alhaji Abubakar Mohammad Mera was appointed as the District Head.
The statement said the substantive District Head of New Gwazange District and Darikwai, Alhaji Muhammadu Ibrahim has been upgraded as the new District Head of Gwazange.
The Commissioner explained that the creation of the new districts were in accordance with Section 10, Subsections (A) and (B) of the Kebbi State Local Government Law, 2008.
He urged the newly appointes district heads to discharge their responsibilities with discipline, honesty, transparency, and dedication.
“Your appointments are based on your track records. Be assured of the Governor’s and the Ministry’s continued support and cooperation as you carry out your responsibilities,” the Commissioner stated.
