Senate resumption date postponed

Date:

senate-chamber_anti_terrorism_billThe Senate yesterday rescheduled its resumption of plenary from today, Tuesday to tomorrow, Wednesday.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Clerk to the Senate, Mr. Benedict Efeturi, in Abuja.

The clerk requested senators to resume sitting in plenary on Wednesday by 10 a.m.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that though no reason was given for the postponement, Senate adjourned abruptly on Nov. 4 and 5 and subsequently adjourned sitting till Tuesday, Nov. 11.

This is in connection with internal strife in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), arising from the party’s Ward Congress. (NAN)
