Northern govs to Jonathan: Declare total war on B/Haram before 2015 election

The Chairman of the Northern States Governors Forum (NGSF) and the Governor of Niger State, Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, has urged President Goodluck Jonathan to declare total war, that will eliminate Boko Haram sect in Northern region before 2015 election.

He stated this in a speech he delivered at the official commissioning of the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation headquarters in Kaduna, yesterday.

Dr. Aliyu, who is the chairman of the Foundation, said the job of governance in the northern region has been complicated by the present predicament in the area such as abject poverty, insecurity and Boko Haram sect and that calls for the need for all leaders from the region to come together on bipartisan or non-partisan basis in order to encourage President Goodluck Jonathan to declare total war on the insurgency ravaging the area before the 2015 election.

According to Governor Aliyu, the Boko Haram insurgency is no

more terrorists but rebels who have declared war against their country and have acquired illegal territory and in view of this they must be crushed.

The Niger state governor reminded his fellow colleagues from the North to prepare like the late Sardauna to keep a date with history, therefore they must be ready to write their own script for the acquisition for the unborn generation.
