Security will be my main focus, says Ribadu

From Ahmed Kaigama, Bauchi

Former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Nuhu Ribadu has said that he was prompted by insecurity problems bedeviling his state and northeast geo-political zone to join the race for the Adamawa state governorship in 2015 elections.

To this end, Ribadu said that he will work hard to ensure his victory in the forthcoming PDP Adamawa governorship primaries and the subsequent February 2015 elections so as to on assumption to office join hands with his colleagues in the zone to bring to an end the insecurity problems bedeviling the sub-region.

Alhaji Nuhu Ribadu explained that on assumption of the mantle of leadership in Adamawa state, his administration will accord security the priority it deserves, stressing that without security to lives and property no meaning development could be achieved.

“My administration will accord greater priority to security issues for development purposes, security will be the cardinal principle of my administration come 2015. What is happening today in our zone should be condemned by every well-meaning citizen”, Ribadu frowned.

The former EFCC Chairman who was fielding journalists’ questions amidst his cheerful supporters  shortly after he has been screened by the PDP zonal office in Bauchi weekend, expressed dismay that innocent lives are being massacred and property destroyed on daily basis with no end to the insurgency in sight in the zone.

Ribadu while acknowledging accolades from supporters at the Bauchi PDP zonal office, expressed optimism that he will carry the Adamawa PDP gubernatorial flag after the forthcoming party primaries and subsequently win the elections to be sworn-in as the duly elected Governor of Adamawa State comes May, 2015.

“Let’s wait and see the PDP primaries in Adamawa state, people will be surprised with the outcome of the election, I will by the grace of God top all the other gubernatorial aspirants”, Ribadu said.
