From Ayodele Samuel, Lagos
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State, Alhaji Yerima Abass Mekafi has assured that the party will take over the state in the next general election.
Mekafi, a staunch supporter of a former governor of the state, Prince Abubakar Audu, said the state will return to the progressive fold, insisting that the PDP government has brought untold hardship to the people of the state.
Maikarfi who spoke with newsmen in Lagos said the party under Abubakar Audu will deliver the state to the APC at both presidential and legislative elections next year.
“Things would begin to change for us in Kogi State from the next election; I can assure you that with Prince Audu, APC will win all the elections in Kogi State.
“Because the people are tired of PDP rule they want change, they have seen the difference and are ready to embrace change
“Audu as a great grassroots mobilizer and actualizer has gone round Kogi State to preach change and the people have accepted APC, they have promised to dislodge the PDP with their votes,” Mekafi said.
Describing Prince Abubakar Audu as the face of the party in Kogi State, he said the leadership of the party under Audu has fielded competent candidates that would actualize the party’s manifesto.
“Today we don’t have any rancor in our state, our candidates emerged through transparent primaries, that signal that we are going to the election united,” he added.
